Welcome Back
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you have had a restful half-term break. We are delighted to welcome everyone back to school, especially our new Year 7 students, who have settled in very well, embracing all aspects of school life with enthusiasm. We were pleased to welcome Year 7 families to the academy for our first MYCAT Day in October and look forward to the next one for Year 11 and Post 16 students on Thursday, 12th December.
Thank you for your support in helping improve school attendance. When students come to school regularly, it makes a huge difference in their learning and progress. Being in class every day helps them keep up with their work, feel more confident, and stay connected with their friends and teachers. Your support in making attendance a priority helps us create a positive, supportive environment where students can thrive.
As we move into a busy half-term, I wanted to keep you informed about some other key dates and events. For our Year 11 students, trial exams are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 12th November. These exams provide an invaluable opportunity to assess progress and prepare for the final GCSE exams later in the school year. We wish all of our Year 11 students good luck and remind them that staff are here to support. Full details of the additional sessions for YR11 can be found here.
We also have a staff training day on Friday, 29th November, when the school will be closed to students.
Finally, I am delighted to share the first edition of our student newsletter, CAP YAP. This will be a regular publication, written by students sharing what is happening in the academy each half term.
Thank you for your continued support. Here’s to a productive and enjoyable half-term as we work together to make this school year a success for all.
Kind regards,
Louise Pratt
Principal
