Co-op Academy Priesthorpe Post 16 Dress Code

Post 16 Dress Code

Co-op Academy Priesthorpe Sixth Form is your chosen place of study, and while you have the freedom of a less restricted dress code than the rest of the school, the Sixth Form is still a place of learning, within a school setting.

Sixth Form students are role models for younger students and should wear what is appropriate for a diverse school community. For this reason, we require students to dress in an appropriate professional manner and we expect all our students to dress in a smart/casual way:

  • Dresses and skirts should be an acceptable length and not too short

  • Dresses and tops with spaghetti style straps should not be worn and no bare midriffs should be on display

  • Hooded tops can be worn but hoods must remain down whilst in school

  • No political slogans

  • No football/sports team tops

  • No offensive or obscene slogans/messages

  • Coats should not be worn around school or in the classroom

  • All students must wear their Post-16 ID lanyards at all times on the school site. This is a Safeguarding and Health & Safety requirement and forms part of your Learning Agreement

  • Jewellery should be discreet and appropriate for the workplace

This list is not exhaustive and we ask that students take a common sense approach to what they wear for school and to ask a member of the Post-16 Team if they are not sure.

We reserve the right to determine what is acceptable and students who do not comply with the dress code will be asked to go home to change.
