End of Spring Term Letter to Parents
It has been an incredibly busy term with so many brilliant things going on. There have been trips including to London and The Lake District. We held our first Community Iftar. The Big Bike Giveaway was an enormous success. Staff and students celebrated Culture Day with some fabulous outfits. Our Annie production was an absolute hit. In celebration assemblies this week, huge numbers of students have been recognised for their academic progress, their exemplary attitude to learning, and their outstanding attendance. Congratulations to all the students awarded this week – keep up your excellent work!
The summer term is important for every student in the school; each will have important assessments of their learning and progress, and for students in Year 11 and Year 13 this will involve GCSE and A Level examinations. It is important, therefore, that the next two weeks of holiday enable a balance of rest and, particularly for our older students, good use of this time to support their final preparations for exams.
Students in Year 11 have been provided with a timetable for revision sessions which are running over the holidays. There are also revision materials available on Google Classrooms.
We return to school on Tuesday 22nd April at 9am. I know the start of term is often a time for renewing uniforms. Please can I take this opportunity to remind everyone that our uniform includes black footwear. We do allow trainers as part of our uniform but they must be completely black with no coloured logos or patterns.
Some important upcoming dates include,
Year 10 Meet Your Coach and Teacher Day on Thursday 24th April
School is closed on Monday 5th May for the Bank Holiday
You can find the full list of key days for the term ahead on the website.
Many thanks for your continued support. Have a restful holiday with your family and friends.
Kind regards.
