Student Leadership Team Launch!

Our new Student Leadership Team provides opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills and creates a platform for students to participate in projects they are passionate about. The transferable skills gained will nurture well rounded individuals, making a difference to the academy, community and beyond.

I am writing to inform you of an exciting opportunity available to students in all year groups starting from September 2021. The Academy is launching a new Student Leadership Team which will include coaching representatives, a student council and committee leaders. Students can apply to the Co-op Young Leaders programme where training will be delivered in school by the Trust. Students will have the opportunity to apply to become a leader within a committee that they feel most passionate about.

The programme is an opportunity for students to gain the knowledge, skills and ambition to help them improve communication between student, academy leaders, staff, governors and parents. Students will help promote an environment which supports educational and personal development whilst promoting friendship and respect among peers.

To apply to take part in the Student Leadership Team please write a personal statement or a video message, explaining the following:

  • Your motivation for applying for a place on the programme
  • Your passion for supporting your peers, the academy and wider community
  • Why you think you would benefit from leaderships skills and how you will demonstrate your commitment

Your application should be written in good English, sequenced in logical paragraphs and written in full sentences rather than bullet points. We suggest your statement should be around 300 words long or a three minute video message. Please include your full name and year group.
The deadline for submitting an application is Friday 11th June 2021. This should be emailed to Mrs Gupta: or printed and given to your Year Manager.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs R Gupta
