Lisa Banton – Partnership & Community
I have been a parent governor at Priesthorpe since September 2018. I have one child at the school who is currently in year 8. I joined the governing body to provide effective support and challenge to the leadership team from a parent’s perspective. I was particularly interested in the transition of the school from local authority maintained to being part of the Co-op academy trust.
My day job is Workforce Development Lead for Leeds City Council Children’s Services, and as an educator of professionals I feel well placed to work in partnership with the governing body to improve learning outcomes for our pupils. My team has recently been recognised by Ofsted as making a key contribution to the recent ‘outstanding’ judgement for Children’ Services.
