Ms. Brigham and Miss Jackson

The KS5 ‘DO WHAT MATTERS MOST’ AWARD goes to …

Lauren Waterhouse

Lauren, you have grown in confidence since you started in Post-16 and developed into a confident and ambitious student, who has worked hard to overcome hurdles that you have been faced with in the transition from KS4 to KS5. As a result, during this last year, you have demonstrated your resilience and capacity to ‘get to grips’ as a Post-16 learner and this has been demonstrated in the quality and standard of your work. We are really proud of everything you have done, so far, and we hope that this will give you self-belief, moving into Y13. Well done!

The KS5 ‘SHOW YOU CARE’ AWARD goes to …

Rabia Riaz

Rabia, you encompass all the key qualities that define a Post-16 student. You are one of the most enthusiastic and committed students in Post-16. You have demonstrated compassion and integrity with your involvement in sixth-form life and enrichment opportunities. You ‘go the extra mile’, not only embracing every opportunity that is presented to you, but also encouraging others to become involved, radiating great energy and positivity in everything that you do. You are a key leader within the sixth-form and an excellent ambassador for the Academy and we look forward to seeing what you can achieve over the coming year. Well done!

The KS5 ‘SUCCEED TOGETHER’ AWARD goes to …

Josephine Kormoh

You came to us as a new student into Post-16 and, despite a bumpy start, we feel that you have turned a corner, massively, this year, to become an outstanding ambassador for Post-16. You have demonstrated how hard work and determination can enable you to turn things around and help you to achieve your goals. You have utilised the support from your subject teachers, coach and Post-16 team to allow you to succeed in all three of your subjects and also to secure an offer to study Law at a prestigious university. We are really proud of the perseverance and commitment you have shown and we wish you luck in your future at university. Well done!

The KS5 ‘BE YOURSELF ALWAYS’ AWARD goes to …

Aaron Salhan

Aaron, we have chosen you for this award because we feel that your resilience and determination to succeed, no matter what, have been outstanding. Most people have no idea of the challenges you have overcome and this is a testament to your maturity, determination and inner strength, which has enabled you to maintain your focus on your studies and your career ambitions. Many people wouldn’t have been able to achieve what you have: being offered a trainee contract in accountancy with Deloitte, one of the top three firms in the world, which is an outstanding achievement. You have shown great resilience and perseverance to follow your dreams and not give up on what you really wanted to do. You should be incredibly proud of the person you’ve become. It has been a privilege to work with you and to see what
you have achieved and we wish you all the luck in the world, as you enter the next important stage of your life. Well done!
