2020 Awards: Governors Award for Outstanding Achievement
Our ‘Governors Award for Outstanding Achievement’ is presented to the most academically outstanding student of the school year.
Our 2020 winner is Sana Malik!
”I think it’s fair to say that it has been a very strange few months for everybody, where all of our worlds have been completely turned upside down, but, whilst we cannot hold a presentation event in person, I think that it is so important that we still recognise the work and achievements of the students over the last year and talk about the children who have gone way ‘above and beyond’ in their academic life. I’m really proud to present Sana Malik with the Governors’ Award for Outstanding Achievement. Sana is described as, ‘one of the most phenomenal students that we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, personally and academically.’ She is exceptional. She is perceptive, compassionate and articulate, as well as hardworking and committed and truly deserves this award. Sana is naturally intelligent and, in her quest to study medicine, she has studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths and she is expecting A* across all of her subjects, in her results, in August, so fingers crossed! She has also developed her non-academic skills, such as first aid, sign language and taking part in the Business and Enterprise Challenge. She is one of the first students at Priesthorpe, for a long time, to be offered a firm place to study medicine, in September, at Leeds and we know she will be an amazing doctor. We couldn’t be more proud of Sana and everything she has achieved and we look forward to hearing all the stories from her journey in the next chapter of her life.”
